Furrow Lights :: Propellor Design

I'm totally digging these bamboo pendant lights from Canadian design firm Propellor Design.  I love the way the light peeks out from the intersecting grooves!

About:
Our Furrow series of pendant lights was born out of experiments in the wood-shop with one of our favorite Eco-friendly materials, laminated bamboo. We created a pattern of perforations that allow light to escape the shade, bringing its surfaces to life with a warm ambient glow.

Also available as a single, narrow pendant.

Furrow Lights by Propellor Design: $295 - $460

Puff pendants and Knoop Rope coffee tables, oh my!  Josh Urso Design explores the application of "resin impregnated" materials in these two unique collections.  The Knoop Rope tables are made from lengths of rope (400 - 700 feet, depending on style), which have been imbued with resin and formed into cubes.  The Puff Pendants go through a similar process, turning soft, mesh fabric into deceivingly hard folds that diffuse a nice, warm light.  An interesting method, to say the least!

Check out the whole collection here.

Would you believe me if I told you there isn't a single screw in this entire shelving unit?  It's true.  The whole thing is held together with cables and zipties.  Now that's innovation, folks.  It can even be used as a coffee table, should you find a slab of glass that's suitable.

About:

T.SHELF is an abbreviation for Triangle shelf. It is a unique shelving system that can be setup around your existing furniture, or can be just hanging by itself on a wall as a sculptural object.  The concept was to create furniture for modern nomadic culture. It is easy to setup and pack flat for space saving transportation.

The first approach was to get rid of screws. This also gets rid of the tools in assembling the furniture.  T.SHELF uses cable and zip ties to tie every triangle into one piece of furniture/sculpture and functions as displaying books, magazines, plants, pictures, or anything you want to display.

I posted this on the MAIYA fan page, but thought I'd post it here real quick, too.  One of my favorite Etsy sellers, Michael Arras, just put this bright, happy table on sale.  Go buy it!
