Christmas already??

. 10.12.2008

Seriously. I don't usually start thinking about Christmas for another month or so, but we had a snow storm last night which sort of set my mind off in that direction. Post-Christmas 2007 I was looking around for some modern wreaths that I could maybe get for cheap since the holiday had passed and retailers like to get rid of that stuff like a bad case of herpes. I did some Googling and came across this wreath that, to my surprise, a fellow Utah modernist had made. I would love to make my own version of it this year.

I also really, really like this op-art wreath from Kenneth Wingard. It's only $60, which isn't too bad considering it's the coolest powder-coated steel wreath ever. Plus, if you were so inclined, you could probably leave it up all year.

i'm not really into holidays or their relative adornments, but i rather like that wingard wreath. i'd hang it on a wall in a bedroom regardless of any particular season.

Ha! I loooove the op-art wreath so much. The only reason I didn't buy it is that my door is currently white. When I couldn't find a mod wreath that even came close to the Wingard, I decided to make mine. Very funny!

Thanks for the link.

Love the second one and I agree, I would leave that one up all year, which makes the price worthwhile..

The Wingard wreath is pretty amazing! When I was Googling for modern wreaths last January, it was pretty much the only one that came up. That, and your awesome version Azucar!
